Worship Team / Committee

 

The Worship Team/Committee operates, in many ways, as the Stage Director of the Worship Services. The team handles altar decorations, keeping the brass candlesticks polished and the altar cloths/and covering ready for worship. The music team is a subset of Worship though the individual hymns are neither selected nor approved by the team.

 

The coordination of acolytes, ushers, and communion servers/preparers are responsibilities of the Team. Additionally team members volunteer to see that the “I Wish” cards are available in the pews. The Wedding Coordination Team and the Altar Decoration Team are subsets of the Worship Team as well.

 

The Team has additional responsibilities on All Saints Sunday (supplying and arranging flowers provided in memory of the Saints of our lives), Advent (decorating and un-decorating the sanctuary), Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday (responsible for organizing the pot-luck meal before the service), Good Friday (un-decorating and then decorating for Easter), Easter, and Pentecost. Currently, the team meets approximately three times each year at the end of September, January, and May. All interested parties are invited to attend the meetings in addition to the formally invited members of the Team and sub-teams.
