Membership Development Team Ministry

 

Develops and strengthens evangelistic efforts of Christian experience, faith, and service. In charge of membership care with attention given to the needs of individuals and families of all ages.

We have initiated a mail campaign to invite those who have recently moved into the area to our church. Postcards have been sent prior to Welcome Back Sunday, Christmas, and Easter - announcing happenings and services of those events. When visitors come to our church, they receive cookies and church newsletters at their homes from our team. Working with the pastor, we have helped in the new membership process and meetings. We have recruited mentors for new members. During fellowship time after both services, we have provided coffee, tea, juice, and snacks. In conjunction with this, we have worked with the Outreach Ministries team to use Fair Trade coffee. Using the congregation, we have scheduled a list of rotating volunteers for Coffee Hour, and Greeters for the 10:30 service. In the news letter, we have initiated notes designed to keep congregants mindful of creating an encouraging environment for visitors. In addition the Membership Development Ministry team sponsors and organizes the pictorial directory of the church members.  We are responsible for adopting the part of Main Street in Jonesville, from 146A to MacElroy.  Twice a year, the church will clean up that section of the county road.
