Music Director Position

Title:  Music Director

Supervision:  SPRC / Pastor

Schedule:  12 – 15 hours per week and as needed, Sundays and evenings

Compensation:

Starting salary to be based upon the education and experience of the candidate.  Benefits include vacation, holiday and personal time. 

Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of music.
  2. Knowledge of a variety of forms of Christian Music.
  3. Ability to interact with adults, youth and children.
  4. Organizational skills
  5. Experience in working with adults, youth or children in a choir.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise the music program of the church. 
      *Chancel Choir, *Adult Bell Choir, *Bell Ensemble, *Youth Bells,*Chime Choir, Joyful Noise, Smaller Choruses as needed, Praise Team, Soloists and Instrumentalists, *Direct and Coordinate Community Performances, Coordinate Music Schedule, Assist other Choir Directors, Recruit Choir Members and Musicians, Select Music. (*Music Director is currently directing these).
  2. Monitor condition of instruments and schedule maintenance and repairs.
  3. Provide information to church office for inclusion in bulletin and newsletter.
  4. Supervise and coordinate with organist.
  5. Prepare budget requests for Finance Team.
  6. Attend Worship Team, and Administrative Council. 
  7. Work in cooperation with the Pastor.
  8. Report to the Staff Parish Relations Committee.
