Learning Opportunities:

Adult Church School January 17th
An 8 week adult study experience will start at 9:30am, January 17th in the Library. Titled, “Not on Our Watch,” this class will use Biblical reflections to study the mission to end genocide in Darfur and beyond. The book Not On Our Watch by Don Cheadle and John Prendergast is available through Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, etc.. Led by Carole Collins, this important class will guide us through a discussion on one of the most hear-breaking issues of the 21st Century – genocide, and our response to it. You may call Carole Collins at 899-2813, if you have any questions, and sign up for the class in Fellowship Hall.

Disciple 1

This year, Jonesville United Methodist Church will again offer Disciple 1:  Becoming Disciples through Bible Study.  Disciple 1 is a 34 week course designed to inform students about the Bible and transform Christians into Disciples.  With 17 weeks spent in both the Old and New Testaments, over 2/3 of the Bible is read through the course.  The work load is daunting but rewarding:  30-40 minutes of Bible reading a day; a 2 ½ hour session a week for 34 weeks beginning on September 10th, with new D.V.D.’s and manuals for the class work.

Christian Believer

What do you believe, and why?  The Christian Believer helps us answer these questions, while deepening our faith through the fellowship of a small Christian community.  Similar in format to the Disciple Bible Study Program, the Christian Believer will help us understand such key concepts as faith, grace, sacrament, prayer, creator, savior, spirit…..and make them our own.  Built on the understanding that individuals come to faith and live out their faith in unique ways, the Christian Believer emphasizes

tolerance for all members of the Christian family.  If you are interested in learning more about the Christian Believer experience, please contact the church office.
