Three years ago, we started on a journey that would help us strengthen the spiritual and physical foundation of our church. Our goal was to raise $478,000 for much needed repairs and to strengthen the spiritual foundation of our church for our generation and the next. At a memorable worship service on May 18, 2008, our congregation committed to fund these repairs, restore our church, help retire our existing debt, and expand our mission program. We then celebrated with food and fellowship at our “All Church Event” in the Fellowship Hall. It indeed was a historic day for Jonesville Church.
During the planning stages of our campaign, our RSI consultant Jerry Cleveland explained to us that based on his past experience, the campaign would be a success if we collected 90% of our three year pledge goal. Well guess what! We not only reached the 90% mark three months early in March but continued our climb to finish our campaign journey at 97% of our $478,591 goal - a truly outstanding accomplishment in light of these challenging economic times and a tribute to your amazing spirit and dedication.
As a result of your spiritual giving, we have accomplished all of our original Capital Campaign goals. We saved over $85,000 in interest on our outstanding mortgage and reduced the term from 15 years to 8 ½ years. We enhanced our mission and outreach program with an additional $43,000. And with the recent signing of the contract for our last major improvement (stained glass windows repair) we have completed all our goals. But in addition to these, other work has been accomplished. Extensive repairs were made to the parsonage. The church office, hallways and classrooms were renovated with fresh paint and new carpeting. The overhead utility wires were removed and placed underground, improving the appearance of the church. And all of this transformation was made possible by your generous campaign contributions.
God has truly blessed our church and will continue to bless our congregation in the months and years to come. As we continue to enjoy these blessing, let us also continue to be faithful stewards of God's vision for our community. Thank you for being part of the
Miracle on Main Street!
