Maplewood Manor sing-a-long February 6th |
On Monday, February 6, our Jonesville singers will entertain the residents with a Valentine Program of sentimental songs. If you are available to join us from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m., meet at church to car-pool at 9:40 a.m. or meet at Maplewood Manor, Ballston Spa at 10 a.m. We always have a fun-filled time. |
Cookie Walk February 12 |
Please sign up in Fellowship Hall to bake 2-4 dozen cookies for the Education Committee’s Annual Valentine Cookie Walk. Clean coffee cans are needed for the Cookie Walk and can be placed in the box in Fellowship Hall marked for collection. Proceeds will go to VIM Nicaragua. |
Haiti Challenges and Hope February 14th, 7 pm |
Presented by Mildred Howarth, this School of Mission Study examines the cultural heritage, colonialism, and religions of Haiti and how the country is being helped in its recovery after the 2010 earthquake tragedy. An offering will be taken for A Call to Prayer and Self Denial mission project. Refreshments will be prepared by Ginny Rae Moran. United Methodist Women would LOVE you to join us for the program and fellowship. |
Church Breakfast February 19 from 9-10 am |
All you can eat breakfast includes scrambled eggs, French toast, hash brown potatoes, sausage, bacon, coffee and juice. Enjoy good food and fellowship between the worship services. Adults: $4.00, children under 12: $1.50, family maximum: $11.00. |
Ash Wednesday February 22, 7:30 pm |
Our Lenten Journey begins with the solemn imposition of ashes and communion. The Rev. Ray Stees will conduct our worship at 7:30 p.m. |
Pretzel Sunday February 26 |
Our Church School and Children’s Church make and enjoy our favorite Lenten symbol, the pretzel. |
Christian Yoga Begins March 1st |
Led by Cindy Reinker, this group will explore the relationship between body and spirit through the practice of Christian Yoga. The class will meet for six Thursday evenings from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Cindy will introduce us to gentle yoga practice while David will highlight various forms of Christian prayer and meditation. Cindy is a fitness Instructor at the Clifton Park YMCA. She has been practicing Yoga for many years and is a certified teacher with Yogafit, Inc. You should wear comfortable clothes, bring a mat for yoga if you have one, and a pillow or cushion for the sitting if you desire.
